千聖 (Chisato) is a veteran musician that has been in the scene for several years. Last year, his first solo work, Dance with the wild things, turned 20 years. To celebrate his more than 20 years in the industry, he has recently released a best of album. Don’t miss the details!
Bands profiles: GE+IM
That’s the name of yuhma (ex. Luzmelt)’s new solo project. Previously, he had to leave his former band, JILKA, featuring bassist Sana, due to health problems. Shortly afterwards, they disbanded.
Some time afterwards, around the end of 2015, yuhma (now known as Naoki) announced a new solo project with support members, named GE+IM. The band’s concept is related with hospitals, doctors, drugs, surgery… known as Iryou Kei (subgenre to visual kei that comes from eroguro kei), an agressive and grotesque style, all of which add up to their psycho appearance.
FEMM to release double album
FEMM, a groundbreaking latex-clad performance duo consisting of mannequins RiRi and LuLa, has announced their first international physical release; “PoW! / L.C.S. + Femm-Isation”. The special two-disc package will be released across the UK and Europe through London’s JPU Records on 4th March 2016, along with a limited edition “Fxxk Boyz Get Money” t-shirt bundle.
Referring to themselves as “dolls with minds”, the pair’s fusion of empowering electro-pop with dance moves and impassive facial expressions has earned over five million views on YouTube and counting.
Non Japanese band: Kerbera
Kerbera is a Swedish Rock Visual Kei band. You may recognize the Lead vocalist as Seike former front man of the band Seremedy. The band counts with metal music and great duel vocals. They debuted with a mini cd with a total of 5 songs entitled She Saw Bridges Burn, with songs such as Ghost Town and Lipstick Tonic.
TENBI “The Fire”
TENBI is a Japanese composer who plays one of the most iconic instruments in her country: the shamisen. She gracefully mixes the classical sound of this legendary instrument with modern rythms and mixes, which results in beautiful compositions for everyone to enjoy.
